Modern Day Detroit

Here is an imgur album of modern day Detroit, pretty amazing looking to me.

Machine City

This looks to be a manufacturing facility of some type. From a distance it almost looks like it could be a city of glass and light at night.

power station

I  found one of these a few weeks ago on the side of the road. At the time I had no idea what it was but after some research I found it that it was a brick kiln. They almost look like some lost technology for an underground power generation.

Colorful housing

RPG and fantasy worlds in general rarely have a lot of color they just tend to pick a theme (like brown or grey) and stick with it though out the world.

These homes in Haiti are full of color, look claustrophobic
and seem almost magical to me. The adventures that could be had in a place like this...

I can just imagine a rocky  coast line covered with these rusted oddly shaped 12' rings

Salton Sea

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salton_Sea

The Salton Sea was created by a flood in 1905 where the colorado river flowed into an area known at the salton sink. This place had radiation or something ... for a while it was like this 1950s resort city, then everyone freraked out, left and never came back.

This place looks like the ultimate backdrop for a distopia setting.

Real World Gaming Locations

So what is this blog about? Real world locations that sound like a fantasy. That look incredible, places that set your mind on fire with ideas for gaming settings.

Pretty simple I guess, but also a lot of fun for me.
